7/9 CBS2 Thursday Afternoon Weather Headlines

It will be generally quiet the remainder of the afternoon with just a stray shower or storm around the area. It will be a bit cooler, as well, with a high of only 81°.

Early this evening, however, we'll see a more organized area of showers and storms approach the western fringe of our area. And some of these storms could pack a punch, too, bringing frequent lightning, heavy rain, and gusty winds. This activity will exit east during the late evening and early overnight hours... quiet by dawn with temps right around 70°

We'll see clearing skies tomorrow with a touch of relief in the humidity and temperatures running right around or slightly above normal... high around 85°.

Saturday's looking very nice with mainly sunny skies and highs in the mid 80s -- a July treat!

As for Sunday, high pressure looks to hang on and deliver us yet another nice day. It will be a touch warmer with highs in the upper 80s.
