7/31 CBS2 Sunday Evening Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre
CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

It was another soggy day for much of the New York and New Jersey Metro, with more flash flooding reported in Central and Southern New Jersey. Once again some towns got almost half a foot of rain, among them South Brunswick and Ocean County Airport!

The good news is that the rain is far less intense than earlier today and will become much spottier in nature instead of the wall of rain we had yesterday & this morning. Expect scattered showers tonight with fog developing late. It'll be muggy and damp with a low around 70.

Tomorrow will feature another chance for rain and thunderstorms, but also a little bit more sunshine. We'll top out around 80 degrees which is a few below normal. Looks like the early AM commute and the PM commute are the best bets for wet weather... as luck would have it.

A few showers linger into Tuesday morning which will be the transitional day from stormy weather to nicer weather for the rest of the work week. Stay tuned for the latest!
