7/14 CBS2 Thursday Morning Weather Headlines
By Mark McIntyre
CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer
Good Thursday mornin', everybody... we're waking up to a few showers and thunderstorms along with very muggy conditions. Temps start off in the 70s and they'll soar into the upper 80s by this afternoon. Not only will temps soar, but so will the humidity...heat indices are expected to top out around 95-100 degrees for many! There are heat alerts in effect today, so drink plenty of water, take breaks, and be safe!
There's also a chance for some more thunderstorms again this afternoon and evening, and some could pack a punch with gusty winds and even hail! Just make sure to keep it tuned to CBS2 for any alerts.
Things get even hotter Friday, but we will have MUCH drier air in place. An isolated shower can't be ruled out, but the odds are very low. We're going with a high of 93 in NYC with mostly sunny skies and much lower humidity. As of now, the weekend looks great with low humidity, seasonable warmth, and mostly sunny skies.
