3/6 CBS2 Sunday Evening Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre
CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

We'll have clear skies prevailing tonight and it will be another brisk one out there, but it will be a few degrees warmer. Good news is that we don't expect any flurries. Temps bottom out in the mid 20s in the 'burbs to mid 30s in NYC.

The much-anticipated warming trend starts tomorrow with plenty of sunshine and southwest winds due to high pressure shifting offshore. That high will stay in place through midweek and allow for a spring feel! Temps jump into the mid and upper 50s tomorrow, into the mid 60s on Tuesday...and into the low 70s Wednesday. In fact, some record tying/setting temps are possible.

Things cool off slightly Thursday and Friday with a frontal system working through the region. Some showers and thunderstorms are possible Thursday afternoon/evening, and we'll have another chance returning next weekend. But with temps holding in the upper 50s and nearing 60, it'll be just rain.

Have a great night & enjoy the incoming warmth!
