3/20 CBS2 Sunday Evening Weather

By Mark McIntyre

CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Despite the fact that spring started early this morning, we are feeling more like winter! Light snow will move in this evening and will get heavier after midnight, but the heaviest will be focused across Long island.

We'll have temps hovering around freezing in the city overnight, so not much snow is expected. We'll have more in Suffolk County, with 4-6 inches a possibility. Elsewhere, expect 2-4 inches for Nassau County and the Jersey Shore.

The good news is that it'll wrap up before the morning commute for interior New Jersey and the Lower Hudson Valley, and during the rush for NYC. For the Long Island folks, you'll have snow through mid morning, but then sunshine returns for all after lunch and temps will climb well above freezing!

If you want spring warmth, you're in luck! A peek at the extended forecast shows a warmup into the 60s by midweek. For now though, stay indoors & stay warm!
