1/9 CBS2 Saturday Evening Weather Headlines
By Mark McIntyre, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer
Our forecast features a little bit of everything, from cold to record warmth to rain, wind, and even some snow! Expect warming temps tonight with a few showers, but rain will really pick up in the pre-dawn hours. We'll get a good wind-swept soaking with most spots getting 1-1.5" of rain, locally higher, along with 30-35 mph winds...those winds will be strongest at the coast and could cause some minor flooding issues.

Looks like the rain will taper off through the early afternoon with a few more showers tomorrow evening. The rain is the first part of tomorrow's forecast. The second part of the story will be potential record warmth. A surge of mild air from the southwest will bring temps into the upper 50s and even low 60s. The current record in Central Park is 60, and it's been in the books for 140 years! As of now we're expecting to tie that record...Pretty impressive considering where we are on the calendar.

Temps nosedive tomorrow night into Monday, and we'll be stuck in the mid 30s for the high - a good 25 degree drop! It'll be breezy and cold Tuesday as well with the chance for some brief snow showers as a clipper system speeds through. Temps climb back to the upper 30s to around 40 to round out the week. Stay tuned for all the latest on our busy forecast!
