1/22 CBS2 Friday Afternoon & Weekend Weather Headlines

Today will be quiet and on the chilly side... low 30s... but then all eyes turn towards our storm. It looks like some flakes and even a light accumulation could be on tap for late tonight into early tomorrow morning, but the storm really gets cranking the remainder of the morning and into the afternoon.
Wind gusts around here are expected to peak at around 45 mph (60 mph along the coast) with snowfall amounts in the 4-8" and 8-12" range with 12+" across the southwest fringe of our area. Coastal flooding and beach erosion are also a concern down the shore given the strong onshore flow and astronomical higher tides... breakers in the 6-12' range, too.
You'll be waking up to sunshine on Sunday, but by then the damage will have been done and the clean up begins.
Check back for more on the storm!
