1/10 CBS2 Sunday Morning Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre
CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good morning folks! Make sure you grab the rain gear if you're heading out this morning. We'll have windy downpours this morning, even a few rumbles of thunder! Looks like most spots get 1-1.5" of rain, locally higher, along with 30-35 mph winds...those winds will be strongest at the coast and could cause some minor flooding issues.

Morning Planner

Heaviest rain tapers off during the day, and then the focus turns to record warmth. Southwest winds will bring in 50s and even some 60s! The number to beat in NYC is 60, all the way back from 1876. As of now we're forecasting a record tying day...Pretty impressive for January!

Morning 7 Day

Unfortunately the warmth won't last, and temps plunge Monday. Expect high temps during the day only in the mid 30s. It'll be breezy and cold Tuesday as well with the chance for some brief snow showers as a clipper speeds through. Temps climb back to the upper 30s to around 40 to round out the week. Stay dry!
