10/18 CBS2 Sunday Evening Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre

CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good evening everybody! The word of the day has been "brrrr" and that will be the case through the night. Freeze warnings are in effect overnight with temps plunging into the 20s and 30s once again -- with lows down to 34 in NYC. With the wind, it'll feel more like the mid-to-upper 20s.

Make sure you bundle up heading to work or school Monday morning, 'cause it'll be frosty! Temps in the 20s & 30s along with a northwest breeze will make for a wintry chill. Temps warm up into the low 50s by afternoon, but it'll still feel chilly due to the wind.

Things improve dramatically after that, as winds shift and the dome of Canadian high pressure slide away, allowing for a warmer midweek -- we're talking upper 60s and even some 70s. Enjoy it if you can, since we'll be back in the low 60s by the end of the week.
