Sunday: Mike Pence, Tim Kaine, new 2016 polls, and more

Election Day 2016 is now less than a month away – what are both campaigns doing in the home stretch to secure victory? And what could trip them up? We’ll look into that and more this Sunday on “Face the Nation.”

We’ll talk with Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, the Republican vice presidential nominee, about GOP nominee Donald Trump’s rough week, and whether the Republican ticket can recover. Since a 2005 video emerged last week of Trump bragging about groping women, several women have come forward to say that Trump touched them inappropriately. What does Pence make of these allegations? And how will he and Trump try to shift the narrative and recover before voters head to the polls?

Virginia Senator Tim Kaine, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, will also join us on Sunday. We’ll look into the ongoing leak of emails from Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman, John Podesta, which has been orchestrated by Wikileaks, according to the Obama administration, the behest of the Russian government. The emails reveal some of the politicking that has gone on behind the scenes of Clinton’s bid, not all of it flattering – will it hurt the Democratic nominee? Do we have proof that Russia is behind it? And what does that mean, if so?

We’ll also discuss that and more with our political panel, including Random House executive editor Jon Meacham, Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward, Washington Post columnist David Ignatius, and New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd, author of the new book, “The Year of Voting Dangerously: The Derangement of American Politics.”

We’ll also have a new set of CBS News Battleground Tracker polls, including statewide surveys from Nevada and Utah, along with a look at voter attitudes across 13 swing states. CBS News Elections Director Anthony Salvanto will be on hand to tell us what the numbers say about the state of the race.

Finally, as dozens of Republican officeholders scold Trump over his 2005 remarks about groping, some even withdrawing support from their nominee, we’ll examine the turbulence gripping the GOP. Can a house divided stand, come Election Day? And what kind of rebuilding will the party face after the election, regardless of who wins the White House? We’ll discuss that with a panel of conservatives, including Alfonso Aguilar, the president of the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principals, Matt Schlapp, the chairman of the American Conservative Union, Russell Moore, the president of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, and radio talk show host Tammy Bruce.

It’s going to be an exciting broadcast, so make sure you tune in! Check your local listings for airtimes.
