Top Democrats in the State House Friday approved a scaled-back version of a major new office building next to the Capitol, dedicated to the Minnesota Senate. The building's original design had a soaring glass front, with a fitness center and reflecting pool. The scaled back version is slightly more modest, but no less controversial.
Michigan Sen. Carl Levin and some fellow Great Lakes lawmakers are asking their congressional colleagues to fund programs designed to preserve and protect the lakes. Levin is co-chair of the Senate Great Lakes Task Force.

The woman, Angela Garin, says in the ad she was shocked to learn that Dayton is blocking legalization of medical marijuana in Minnesota.
