MINNEAPOLIS — After a dry and sunny day, some of the Twin Cities could see a few isolated showers Sunday evening.

Any sprinkle should have negligible impact while sunshine helps to warm us back closer to average in the low 80s.

High pressure keeps us dry on Monday, too, with even more heat and humidity through Tuesday.

A quick round of showers returns on Monday night through early Tuesday. Storms have a chance of being severe with wind being the main threat.

Expect more dry time for most of next week with another weak system possible late Thursday through early Friday.

Highs will be more seasonable near 80 on Wednesday and beyond.

Many rivers in southern Minnesota will remain in flood stage over the next few days while smaller rivers are expected to crest Sunday and Monday before receding through the week. The Mississippi and St. Croix rivers will continue to swell with a crest anticipated closer to next weekend.
