Minn. St., Mankato Tops American International 1-0
MANKATO, Minn. (AP) -- Rylan Galiardi scored the only goal late in the first period and goalie Phil Cook made it stand up as Minnesota State, Mankato beat American International 1-0 on Friday.
Galiardi knocked the puck past Yellow Jackets goalie Ben Meisner on the power play at 17:28 of the first period.
Meisner was under fire all night. He stopped 51 shots, including 22 in the second period.
The Mavericks (9-8-4) limited American International (4-10-0) to just 17 shots on goal. Cook made 10 saves in the first period and only one in the third.
