MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- On Thursday, protesters gathered at the governor's mansion in St. Paul, urging Gov. Tim Walz to reopen the state for business. Meanwhile, the COVID-19 death toll in the state climbed just shy of 100.

Here are the latest updates in the COVID-19 pandemic:

• 8:56 p.m.: Canada is requiring all air travelers to wear masks.
• 7:42 p.m.: Gov. Tim Walz signed legislation Friday to allow takeout sales of beer and wine from bars and restaurants during the COVID-19 pandemic.
• 5:54 p.m.: PowerHaus Pilates in Edina has closed permanently.
• 3:29 p.m. Minnesota House passes a bill to allow takeout beer and wine, which will now go to Gov. Walz's desk. In the past he said he would support the bill.
• 3:12 p.m. Gov. Walz confirms seven workers at the JBS plant in Worthington have confirmed cases of COVID-19.
• 12:10 p.m. For second day in a row, protesters gathered before the governor's residence, demanding an end to the state's stay-at-home order.
• 12:09 p.m. Backpack maker Duluth Pack is making medical gowns for healthcare workers. 
• 12:00 a.m. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey announced the application process and timeline for the city's $3 million in Minneapolis Gap Funds for Housing. Applications will be accepted 9 a.m. on April 22 through 12 p.m. on April 27. The housing gap funds will help at least 1500 Minneapolis households.
• 11:23 a.m. Gov. Tim Walz issues executive order that will open up a number of outdoor activities, including golf courses and driving ranges starting Saturday.
• 11 a.m. Minnesota health official announce that the state' death toll has surged to 111, up 17 since Thursday.
• 10:27 p.m.: Ilhan Omar is proposing a Rent and Mortgage Cancellation Act for those affected by COVID-19.
• 10:21 a.m. President Trump tweeted "LIBERATE MINNESOTA," supposedly encouraging the state to reopen the economy.
• 9:30 a.m. General Mills facilities will manufacture and donate $5 million worth of product to Feeding America food banks. They will also create an option for employees to work at food-related charities in the Twin Cities will keeping their regular pay.
