JetBlue Airways is making another move to try to save its proposed purchase of Spirit Airlines.
JetBlue announced Thursday that it will suspend all routes to Cuba with the final day of service being September 17, 2023.

The last major hurdle to JetBlue buying Spirit is the Justice Department
Spirit Airlines has scheduled a shareholder vote on JetBlue's proposed $3.7 billion acquisition of Spirit for Oct. 19.
If approved by regulators, it would be the nation's fifth largest airline.

The agreement came after Spirit's attempt to merge with Frontier Airlines fell apart.
Spirit Airlines shareholders could pick a preferred buyer for their airline Wednesday when they are scheduled to vote on one of the offers for the budget carrier.
Shareholders appear to be leaning against the bid from Frontier Airlines
The vote was delayed from Friday until at least July 15.
The delay indicates that Spirit lacks support to approve the Frontier merger.
Frontier is trying to fend off an attempt by JetBlue Airways to swoop in and grab Spirit.
JetBlue said it increased its cash offer to $33.50 per share, or more than $3.6 billion.
Spirit said Wednesday that it rescheduled the vote on its preferred offer, from Frontier, until June 30.
Spirit shareholders are also scheduled to vote Friday on Frontier's offer.
