LITTLE ELM (CBSDFW.COM) - Counselors will be available at Little Elm High School Sunday afternoon after a student drowned Friday in Lake Lewisville.

17-year-old Theo Nash was a week away from starting his senior year.

The football player's death has now left classmates in shock.

Teammates vowed to dedicate the season to him by calling for "10 wins for number 10" in honor of his jersey number.

Little Elm police said Nash drowned in a cove on the edge of Lake Lewisville Friday night.

He and three friends were attempting to swim a short distance between the beach and a boat ramp at Little Elm Park.

Witnesses said Nash started to struggle and disappeared under the water.

"I know all the other kids at school are very… pretty shaken up about it," said Susana Hernandez.

Hernandez's daughter went to school with Nash and was surprised by the news.

"Everybody comes to this lake, you know, on a daily basis, especially during the summer," said Hernandez.

On social media, friends remembered the teen for his sense of humor and integrity.

Students and staff can meet with counselors Sunday at the Little Elm High School library from 1-3pm or throughout the day Monday.
