The U.S. Attorney's Office identified the alleged perpetrator as 52-year-old John Turscak. He now faces charges of attempted murder, assault with intent to commit murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, and assault resulting in serious bodily injury.
A judge has sentenced a Michigan man to 10 months in prison after he pleaded guilty to two hate crime charges for intimidating and attempting to intimidate people protesting in support of Black Lives Matter.
The former Minneapolis police officer will serve his state sentence at the same time as his federal sentence and in federal custody.
