Kids Care Clinic Boosts High Rate Of Vaccinations
DENVER (CBS4)- The Measles outbreak is a big concern for parents with children who may be around unvaccinated children. One local clinic is hoping to ease those parents' fears.
Denver Health confirms that 98 percent of children treated at its "Kids Care Clinic" have been vaccinated. That's higher than the state average for Colorado.
Doctors there believe the families they serve are aware of the importance of being protected.
"When you come from a poor background, especially from another country and you've actually seen vaccine-preventable diseases and seen things like Polio and what it can do to people, and around the world Measles kills tens of thousands of children a year," said Dr. Simon Hambidge Chief of Ambulatory Care at Denver Health.
At the immunization clinic the staff is answering more questions about the Measles vaccine. Many are from people who want to make sure they or their children are properly vaccinated.
