The encampment, termed the DePaul Liberation Zone, began on Tuesday of last week.
On Friday, DePaul officials issued a letter expressing concern about escalating confrontations at the encampment on campus, and advising everyone to avoid the quad:

DePaul University saying it is also meeting with “Other student leaders on campus who are not part of the encampment to ensure many voices are heard in this process.” So far students and administrators have not reached any negotiation agreement.

A coalition of eight student organizations at DePaul issued a list of demands, including that DePaul "divest from companies that advance Palestinian suffering and profit off the occupation" of Gaza.
