The fire was contained to one unit on the 12th floor of the 14-story building, the Fire Department said.
Helen Chambers said the situation is so bad that her grandson is taking the battery out of her vehicle after she parks.
"Every time I see these young people, I'm inspired. I try not to show tears in front of them because they would be tears of joy."
