Get ready, a "koala-ty" exhibit is coming to Brookfield Zoo. Starting June 18, Brumby and Willum, two male koalas, will debut.
This marks the 18th year of the soldier ride event. Over the next two days, 40 veterans will complete the rest of the 63-mile ride. In Chicago, the event is entirely funded by the local community.
Experts ensured the pups' acceptance by their new mothers by using the scent of wolves already in the dens. Two of their siblings are still at Brookfield.
On Saturday, the zoo will host its annual Party for the Planet recycling event, followed by the Earth Day Run on Sunday.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the zoo's main parking lot, which is located at 8400 31st Street.
Koalas are one of only a few species that eat eucalyptus leaves since they are highly poisonous to most other animals.
Tickets go on sale Monday.
The zoo welcomed four meerkat pups, two male and two female, born on Feb. 11.
The American white pelicans were seen on the water in Johnsburg in McHenry County. A wildlife expert told CBS 2's Jim Williams this is not unusual at this time of year.
"I might get emotional, but I'm so happy to have them home."
The new attraction can be found just east of the Roosevelt fountain. It is 110 feet tall with 24 gondolas that seat up to six people each.
Tickets for the Ferris wheel are $8 and $6 for zoo members. It opens on March 15.
The zoo says the offer and website link are not affiliated and can be reported to Facebook or Instagram when you see them.
The ad claimed to sell four zoo tickets for $6.95 for their 90th anniversary.
The bottlenose dolphins also got in on the holiday fun with their "home sweet home" snack.
