"Since I was a child, I knew I wanted to be a doctor. That was my childhood dream growing up in Nigeria," Dr. Motunrayo Adisa said.
"It's nurturing, it's nourishing. We want you to leave here feeling really good about the choices that you made," co-owner Britni DeLeon said.
Stegner is a two-time James Beard Award-winning chef, a restauranteur, a philanthropist, and one of the mothers of the modern Chicago food scene.
Students collect food from around the Illinois Medical District that would otherwise have been thrown out.
Black Luxe Candles, located at 1252 N. Milwaukee Ave., always has art on the walls - something nice to look at while students immerse themselves in their candle-making classes.
CBS 2 went inside The Bridge store, which offers caregivers of kids in crisis a place to get essential items and support.
Dr. Anita Thomas has only been on the job at North Central College since July, but she's made it her home and the students her family.
"It promises to see more students having the opportunity that a secondary education truly provides."
The Evolved Network was started by one therapist-turned-chef on a mission to serve the city.
