A Fairmount Heights police officer has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of violating a man's civil rights and allegedly obstructing justice, according to Department of Justice officials.
A grand jury on Monday indicted former Baltimore City police officer James Weems on 21 charges related to abuse allegations from two victims at his wife's daycare.
Gov. Larry Hogan announced on Wednesday that more than $500,000 will be spent on security upgrades that will make Little Italy safer for businesses, residents, and tourists, according to state staff.
The juvenile is being charged as an adult, police said.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
Keith Kretzer, 31, is charged with two counts of criminal homicide and two counts of criminal attempted homicide.
The man's death was ruled a homicide Tuesday.
The boy was arrested last Wednesday and charged with first-degree attempted murder.
The man was in the 600 block of S. Kenwood Avenue on Saturday when a person asked him for a tissue. That person then assaulted the victim and robbed him, police said.
The new regulations take effect Wednesday.
