The parents of a missing Richardson toddler were in court this morning -- less than 24 hours after the body of a small child was discovered not far from the family home.
A large group of community members gathered outside the Mathews home in Richardson where a growing memorial underneath a tree served as the site of a vigil Sunday night.

The parents of the missing Richardson 3-year-old, Sherin Mathews, will head to court Monday to fight to try to get back their other child.
"There is no question that most of what the FBI and law enforcement are doing, you don't know about," said Dr. Alex del Carmen, a Criminologist with Tarleton State University.
Court documents reveal Sherin Mathews' parents will go to trial in February for a crash they were involved in September 2015. The crash happened off 635 in Irving.
Members of the Richardson Police Department spent a good part of the day searching areas across Dallas County, looking for missing toddler Sherin Mathews.
"The police are doing a lot that's not visible to the public. A lot of it is happening behind the scenes," said attorney Pete Schulte, a former McKinney police officer.
