The meeting came just days after Cory Wilson's appointment as the district's interim leader.
The board voted to pick Cory Wilson to lead the district through a proposed split.

Johnson, the first female superintendent in Keller ISD history, opposes splitting the district into two.
Nearly 3,000 people have signed an online petition calling for a community vote on the split.
The father of three kids who attend the district said his top concern is that trustees discussed the possibility of splitting the district behind closed doors.
The district said over 100 people signed up to speak during the public comment portion of the meeting.
In a surprise, the superintendent said she would resign if trustees moved forward with the plan Thursday night.
Thursday's meeting will be about gathering information and input, including input from the community.
Keller ISD is one of the largest districts in Tarrant County, serving students from Fort Worth, Keller, and other surrounding suburbs.
Keller ISD said it does not anticipate the missed days will need to be made up by students.
Tarrant County has cast the second-most ballots in Texas, trailing only Harris County.
Police say the investigation started in late September after receiving information about a prohibited relationship with the 15-year-old student.
Students must get permission to go by a name or gender other than what is listed on their birth certificate.
