Police standoff in Downtown Dallas ends with suspect dead, no officers hurt, officials say
Dallas police say the standoff in the 1600 block of Commerce Street with a wanted felon barricaded inside a vehicle has ended. The suspect died from what is believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.
The standoff began around 3:45 p.m. when officers responded to an assist officer call at the location.
Police said no officers or members of the public were injured.
The investigation is ongoing.
