A Hinsdale native, De Mar enjoys spending time with her large Chicago-area family. Her hobbies include singing and playing music, competing in triathlons and sampling the best sushi spots in the area.

Attorneys say it all started with a driver rolling through a stop sign.
With the Chicago federal trial for R. Kelly and two of his associates set to begin in less than two weeks, attorneys for one of the defendants – Derrell McDavid – filed a bizarre motion in court Wednesday.
The team aims to prevent escalation sometimes seen when police respond to someone with a mental health crisis.
The Illinois Secretary of State's office said the women, Jennifer Fernandez of Carpentersville, had a valid driver's license and no offenses on her record.
Yasser Almanaseer said he has had no luck in getting it fixed.

"A car pulled up on the side of mine and fired a shot into my car," said Michael Williams. "Next thing I knew, I'm charged with first-degree murder."
The officer was involved in another incident about a year ago where police records show he returned fire during a traffic stop in West Garfield Park.
"We still have to be asking ourselves why our young people, they're usually young people, out with guns sticking people up to take their cars. That's a question we have to keep asking ourselves, and a federal case now and again is not going to solve that problem."
The brother of Officer Patsy Swank pointed to her working regular 12-hour shifts with little time off.
The now-indicted former inspector was earning a paycheck from the IDES as late as last week.
Starting this weekend, mental health help will be just three numbers away.
