82-year-old man found dead inside of Gardena business; family member taken into custody

Investigators say that the suspect was fleeing from a restaurant near the pier where they were previously dispatched for reports of a battery.
Police say that they learned of the allegations in July, but the abuse originally happened in 2016.
The crash happened early Friday morning on northbound I-5 near Calgrove Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Detectives say the suspect, a man in his late 30s, ran from the scene of the incident on foot early Saturday morning.

The victim, only identified as a 48-year-old homeless man, was struck by an SUV on Aug. 3 at around 9:30 p.m., police said.

Police released footage of the crash on Friday, which shows the moments that the woman hurtles onto the street after being hit by the car on Van Nuys Boulevard.
Family members say that the victim suffered a head injury when he was attacked in Koreatown in late July.
Investigators say that the man stopped his car and ran from the scene of the crash on foot late Friday evening.
