Questions after deadly Navy base shooting

Four people, including the gunman, were killed and eight others were injured in a shooting at Naval Air Station Pensacola. CBS News has learned the gunman was Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani, a Saudi Arabian national, and a pilot-in-training for the Saudi Air Force. He had been training in the United States since 2017. The FBI is investigating the suspect’s social media posts and whether he acted alone. But investigators have not said what his possible motive might have been. David Begnaud reports.

Impeachment inquiry moves to next phase

The impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump is moving to the next phase after defiant testimony from the final public witnesses. Former White House official Fiona Hill and State Department staffer David Holmes recounted specific conversations implicating the president in a scheme to pressure Ukraine to investigate his rivals. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says the evidence is clear that the president violated his oath of office, but President Trump says he did nothing wrong. Nancy Cordes reports.

Reince Priebus says "A Warning" by Anonymous is "out-of-touch"

A new book from an anonymous author, described only as "a senior Trump administration official," tells of a White House in chaos led by a president characterized as a "bully" who abuses power and "lacks presidential judgment and a basic understanding of government." In an interview with chief Washington correspondent Major Garrett, former White House chief of staff Reince Priebus rejects the book's claims, and calls the unknown author a "coward."

WH official gives closed door deposition

Longtime White House budget employee Mark Sandy is appearing in a closed hearing on Saturday before the House committees conducting the impeachment inquiry, making him the first official from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to testify in the inquiry. Sandy defied President Trump orders not to appear before house investigators. Sandy was asked about the administration withholding 400 million dollars in military aid to Ukraine. Ben Tracy reports.
