A massive Southern California wildfire is threatening more homes after advancing three miles since Saturday. At 270,000 acres, it is the third largest wildfire in modern California history. Carter Evans reports.
Firefighter death
A firefighter from San Diego was killed Thursday while battling the fourth-largest wildfire in California's history. The Thomas fire is raging along the coast in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. It started 11 days ago and has burned almost 400 square miles and 1,000 structures.

Firefighters in Southern California are battling another massive wildfire. The new fire in San Diego County erupted Thursday and exploded in size. Dry and windy conditions are fueling the flames that have destroyed 500 homes and other buildings across the region. Carter Evans reports.
