Iranian officials say more than 100 people were killed and nearly 200 wounded in two explosions Wednesday as crowds gathered near the grave site of Gen. Qassem Soleimani, who was killed in a U.S. airstrike in 2020. No group immediately claimed responsibility for what Iranian state media called a "terroristic" attack. Security Council approved a resolution calling for more humanitarian aid in Gaza, but the chief of the international agency said Israel's actions are creating major obstacles to aid distribution. U.S. says Iran "deeply involved" in Red Sea attacks
The White House on Friday accused Iran of being "deeply involved" in planning attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea. The White House said an Iranian intelligence ship is providing real-time information to a militia group in Yemen, which is then targeting the ships.
U.S.-Israeli man abducted by Hamas confirmed dead
Gadi Haggai, a 73-year-old Israeli-American man who was abducted, along with his wife, by Hamas militants on Oct. 7 has been confirmed dead. According to officials with the Nir Oz kibbutz, Haggai died on the day of the attack and his remains are still in Gaza. His wife is still believed to be held hostage. Imtiaz Tyab has details.
