It has been six years since 18-year-old Michael Brown was shot and killed by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri, his body left in the street for nearly four hours. Black Lives Matter is renewing its calls to defund the police as the organization marks a major milestone. Mckesson is the co-founder and executive director of Campaign Zero, an organization that advances efforts supporting communities to redefine public safety in ways not involving police.
