The Bucs have interviewed eight, only Hurdle and Pirates minor league staffer Jeff Banister are under consideration.
Ledezma was 0-3 with a 6.86 ERA in 27 games, allowing 25 hits in 19 2-3 innings.
Hurdle couldn't previously speak to the Pirates because Texas advanced to the World Series.
The remaining candidates are Carlos Tosca, Bo Porter and Jeff Banister.
Tosca is the seventh candidate to interview with the Pirates since John Russell was fired.
"It just gets bigger and bigger," Mazeroski said.
Sveum, a Pirates infielder in 1996-97, managed Double-A Altoona from 2001-03.
Macha, a Pittsburgh-area native, was passed over for the Pirates' job several times previously.
