Woodley Helps To Make Playoff Shirt

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - As the AFC Championship Game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Jets draws closer, fans are scooping up merchandise.

LaMarr Woodley has a vested interest in making sure his new shirts are done right. The "beast" shirts started coming off the printing machine at All Pro Embroidery & Screen Printing on Tuesday.

"You just take the look in the eyes right here, that's the eyes of a beast. Scary look. The whole 'I'm not an animal, I'm a beast,' because everybody goes out there on a football field and says, 'He's an animal out there.' Well, I'm not an animal. I'm a beast," Woodley said.

It is not authorized by the Steelers or the NFL like the popular AFC division champion shirts, or jersey's you see on game day.

Woodley's shirt follows on the heels of his counterpart James Harrison's "Rev'n for Seven" shirt that has been flying off the shelves.

Woodley stopped by the shop Tuesday to help get his first shirts off the line.

As for Sunday's game with the Jets, Woodley said don't put a lot of stock in the fact that the Jets won their last encounter.

"They put nine points on the board without the defense being out there. On the football field, they ran a kickoff back and had a safety against us, so I like our chances on Sunday," Woodley said.

Woodley said don't hold your breath waiting for bulletin board material from inside the Steelers' locker room.

"We're not going to feed into the trash talking. We're not going to buy into that," Woodley said.

You can watch the AFC Championship Game on KDKA-TV at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.
