Steelers finalize 53-man roster for 2025 season

The Pittsburgh Steelers have finalized their 53-man roster for the start of the 2025 season ahead of the team's first game against the New York Jets on Sept. 7.

The updated 53-man roster can be found below.

Offense

  • Quarterbacks: Will Howard, Aaron Rodgers, Mason Rudolph, Skylar Thompson
  • Running backs: Kenneth Gainwell, Kaleb Johnson, Jaylen Warren
  • Offensive linemen: Calvin Anderson, Spencer Anderson, Troy Fautanu, Zach Frazier, Broderick Jones, Ryan McCollum, Mason McCormick, Andrus Peat, Isaac Seumalo
  • Tight ends: Pat Freiermuth, Jonnu Smith, Darnell Washington
  • Tight end/fullback: Connor Heyward
  • Wide receivers: Calvin Austin III, DK Metcalf, Scotty Miller, Ben Skowronek, Roman Wilson

Defense

  • Defensive linemen: Keeanu Benton, Yahya Black, Daniel Ekuale, Derrick Harmon, Cameron Heyward, Logan Lee, Isaiahh Loudermilk, Esezi Otomewo
  • Linebackers: Carson Bruener, Malik Harrison, Nick Herbig, Alex Highsmith, Cole Holecomb, Patrick Queen, T.J. Watt, Jack Sawyer, Payton Wilson
  • Defensive backs: Brandin Echols, DeShon Elliott, Donte Kent, Miles Killebrew, Joey Porter Jr., Jalen Ramsey, Darius Slay, Juan Thornhill

Special teams

  • Kicker: Chris Boswell
  • Punter: Corliss Waitman
  • Long snapper: Christian Kuntz

The team also placed defensive back Corey Trice Jr. on injured reserve with a designation for return label.

NFL teams were required to trim roster sizes down to the 53-man maximum by 4 p.m. Tuesday.

  • Offensive linemen: Steven Jones, Aiden Williams, Doug Nester, Julian Pearl, Dylan Cook, Max Scharping

Defense

  • Defensive linemen: Kyler Baugh, DeMarvin Leal, Domenique Davis

  • Linebackers: Kenny Willekes, Mark Robinson, Julius Welschof, Eku Leota

  • Defensive backs: Kam Alexander, Quindell Johnson, D'Shawn Jamison, Daryl Porter, Kyler McMichael, Mikey Victor, Beanie Bishop Jr., Sebastian Castro, Chuck Clark, James Pierre

Special teams

  • Long snapper: Jake McQuaide

Steelers also finalize practice squad

Many of the players who were waived on Tuesday were brought back by the Steelers as a member of their practice squad.

  • Defensive backs: Beanie Bishop, Sebastian Castro, D'Shawn Jamison, James Pierre, Daryl Porter

The Steelers kick off the 2025 season against quarterback Aaron Rodgers' former team, the New York Jets, on Sunday, Sept. 7. Kick-off is set for 1 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on KDKA-TV.
