Report: Pirates Sign 17-Year-Old RHP Prospect
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - According to the Dominican Prospect League website, the Pirates have signed 17-year-old right-hander Leandro Rodriguez.
Rodriguez is described as having a "loose" arm by the website. The Pirates have not announced the signing, but the website reports that Rodriguez signed for $80,000.
MLB.com reported that the Pirates spent $795,000 in signing bonuses last year for four players from the Dominican Prospect League.
