It's going to be another pleasant day in the Pittsburgh area today before a rain chance returns to the forecast this evening.

Soak up the sunshine and warmth while you can. As a wise Marvel wizard once said, 'we are in the endgame now when it comes to summer.  Ok so he may not have been talking about summer, but you get the point. This is the time of the year when pumpkin spice this or that begins showing up on store shelves. The kids are going back to school either this week or next.  Pools are beginning to change their schedules.  You may be in denial that summer is coming to an end, but that will be harder to do heading into next week.

For now, we get to continue to enjoy summer. Highs today should hit the upper 80s.  I have Pittsburgh seeing a high temperature of around 87°.  I also have us hitting 87° on Saturday for our high. While today will be dry and will see plenty of sunshine, rain chances will roll in overnight. Places along I-80 will likely see the highest rain totals, with some maybe hitting an inch.  Most places along I-80 can expect to see around a half inch.  Rain totals closer to Pittsburgh will be a lot more modest of maybe a fifth of an inch.  The best chance for rain in Pittsburgh will come during and just before the morning rush on Wednesday. 

Expect drizzle and light rain in pockets for the rest of the day and on Thursday morning.

I have Wednesday's high hitting 83 degrees.  That may be too high. Thursday and Friday will both see highs in the low 80s too, as a cooler airmass is in place.  We get a quick bump in temperatures on Saturday before another front sweeps through during the evening. This time, we not only get cooler air from the cold front, but a trailing trough will really send temperatures dipping.  I have highs in just the mid to low 70s next Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday.  

While I keep morning lows in the 50s next week, most communities will see morning lows dipping to the 40s.
