Rain chances will be sticking around this week throughout the Pittsburgh area
Rain chances will be sticking around this week throughout the Pittsburgh area.
FIRST ALERT: Through this morning right now because of flooding issues.
AWARE: Mild this week then showers and cooler temps Easter Sunday
After an active overnight with strong to severe storms and a tornado warning near West Mifflin, we are left with heavy downpours throughout the morning commute and into the afternoon/evening.
A Flood Warning issued for Lawrence and Mercer counties which includes New Castle, goes until 7 a.m. where over 1" of rain has fallen.
No fooling here; we actually set the record for total monthly precipitation for March with 6.40" beating the old record of 6.10" from 1967. We also set the record yesterday (March 31st) for a warm low temperature of 61 degrees which ties the old record back in 2016. Today we stay steady in the low 60s, but we are not done with the warmer temperatures yet as we have temperatures at or near 80 this week!
The chance of rain sticks around all week long, but there will be dry time to enjoy those warmer temperatures this week but keep the rain gear close by.
Saturday looks to be the driest day this week with a low chance of rain, but rain chances increase late Saturday throughout Easter Sunday in the morning, and daytime temperatures sit in the mid to upper 50s as of right now.
