Hotel Employee Convicted Of Sexual Relationship With 2 Boys Gets 6-18 Months

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A woman convicted of having a sexual relationship with two teenage boys as a desk clerk at a Butler County hotel was sentenced Tuesday morning.

Nancy Fields was sentenced to 6-18 months, plus five years of probation.

She also has to register as a sex offender for the rest of her life under Megan's Law.

She was sentenced for her conviction on charges including indecent assault of a person under 16, and indecent exposure.

The case involved two 15-year-old boys who were staying at the Candlewood Suites in Cranberry as long-term guests. Their mother was receiving medical treatment nearby.

During the hearing, the boys' mother tearfully told the judge, "My children live in fear because of what she did. It's been embarrassing. We have all sought counseling. One of my boys wanted to be a Marine, but he's undergoing counseling. It would be a shame if he wasn't able to serve his country because of her."

When asked what she had to say, Fields told the judge, "I just want to go home to my family."

Having already been in jail since June, Fields could get out relatively soon under the minimum sentence.

"She's looking forward to getting back. She has children that they're looking forward to getting their mother back in their life, hopefully for Christmas," said defense attorney Ryan Helsel.

Fields was fired from the hotel in January of 2014.

The family of the victims has filed a lawsuit against the hotel, which is still pending.
