Harrison Underwent Second Back Surgery
Pittsburgh, PA (KDKA) - For the second time in less than two weeks, Steelers linebacker James Harrison underwent back surgery.
Team surgeon Dr. Joseph Maroon performed the operation, which Harrison's agent Bill Parise called "just a little cleanup."
Harrison is expected to be limited for about a month.
Parise told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette this second surgery will require four weeks of recovery time and "it's probably a better recovery now because we got a better result."
On February 21st, Harrison had back surgery to remove fragment of a herniated disc that has been touching a nerve in his back all season.
Harrison recorded 10.5 sacks this season, but was no stranger to controversy. The NFL fined him $100,000 for illegal hits early in the year.
