Steelers' Aaron Rodgers jumps Ben Roethlisberger on all-time passing yards list

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers jumped Ben Roethlisberger for fifth place on the all-time passing yards list.

Rodgers passed Roethlisberger in the second quarter of Pittsburgh's game against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium on Thursday. Rodgers completed a pass to running back Jaylen Warren late in the second frame to earn sole possession of fifth place in the NFL record book for career passing yards in the regular season. The Steelers congratulated Rodgers with a post on social media.

He came into the game needing 116 yards passing to pass Roethlisberger, who previously held the spot at 64,088 yards passing. Roethlisberger retired from football after the 2021 season.

Earlier this season, the 41-year-old Rodgers took sole possession of fourth place on the NFL's all-time passing touchdowns list, passing Brett Favre.

Last season, as the quarterback of the New York Jets, Rodgers became the ninth quarterback in the history of the NFL to throw for 60,000 yards.

How much further Rodgers climbs up the record books is still to be seen. In the offseason, Rodgers told "The Pat McAfee Show" that he's "pretty sure" the 2025 season will be his last. Rodgers, who is in his 21st NFL season, has played for the Steelers, Jets and Green Bay Packers.

When he does retire, Rodgers will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer.
