The National Transportation Safety Board will help investigate a SEPTA train fire in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Officials said about 350 passengers were evacuated Thursday night after a fire on a train at Crum Lynne Station in Ridley Park.

The fire started under the first car of the train, and passengers evacuated at the station located at 350 West Ridley Avenue in Delaware County, according to SEPTA.

SEPTA spokesperson Andrew Busch said that once the fire was reported around 6 p.m., the crew worked quickly to evacuate passengers. After everyone was out, crew members noticed the first car was engulfed in flames, he said.

SEPTA service later resumed on the Wilmington/Newark Regional Rail line, and Amtrak service between Philadelphia and Wilmington also resumed.

The cause of the fire was under investigation. The investigation will include footage from SEPTA cameras and interviews with the crew. The NTSB said that Friday morning a team was sent to help investigate.

No injuries have been reported, and SEPTA said all passengers were safely evacuated.

"The pictures really tell the story of how serious this situation was, and fortunately, we have an outcome where we don't have any serious injuries, which is pretty incredible, considering what we've seen," Busch said. "Our crew acted quickly. They're well-trained, their training kicked in, they did exactly what they were supposed to in terms of getting people off of the train safely."

SEPTA said that shuttle buses were provided to the passengers.
