PennDOT lifts speed limit restrictions on highways around Philadelphia

PennDOT temporarily reduced speeds on several highways in the Philadelphia area due to the winter storm Sunday morning.

By noon, all speed limit restrictions were lifted on I-76, I-95, I-295, I-476 and I-676, along with other roads in the area. All highways are back to their posted speed limits, and PennDOT says crews will continue to treat roads until they're clear.

I-81 in Schuylkill County remains on a reduced speed of 55 mph.

PennDOT lifted speed limit restrictions on I-78, US 22 and PA Route 33 earlier in the morning.

Anyone who doesn't have to drive Sunday is urged to stay off the roads. If you do have to drive, you can check on your route and any possible delays at 511pa.com.
