Pa. Gubernatorial Poll Is Good News, Bad News For Dems

(CBS) - The latest Franklin and Marshall College Poll shows the race for Pennsylvania governor has tightened a bit.

Tuesday's Franklin and Marshall College Poll had Republican Tom Corbett leading by four points among likely voters, 36-percent to 32-percent, with almost another third of likely voters undecided.

But F&M Poll director Terry Madonna, noting that Democrat Dan Onorato has been running a lot of ads and campaigning vigorously, said the environment of this fall election cycle still favors Republicans:

"It's tightened, but Onorato still has a big hill to climb. Every single poll done in months has shown Tom Corbett with the lead."

Meanwhile, in the race for US Senate in Pennsylvania, the F&M poll shows Republican Pat Toomey holding a nine-point lead over Democrat Joe Sestak among likely voters 38-percent to 29-percent, with 32-percent undecided.
