PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- During the spring, if we think about allergies the odds are that we think about seasonal allergies, especially as pollen fills the air.
The pollen serves as a trigger to make our immune systems react and try to protect us sensing a foreign attacker.
In this case pollen is what makes us sneeze and cough and have a runny nose and itchy eyes.
The best way to deal with this is to avoid the allergen.
There are numerous over the counter medications that can help, but this is one of those cases when you can call your physician for advice to see what treatment he or she recommends.
