Proposed FDA rule could lower nicotine levels in tobacco products

The FDA announced a proposed rule last week that would require the tobacco industry to lower nicotine levels in combusted tobacco products. The proposal would apply to cigarettes, tobacco, and cigars. Despite a steady decline in smoking rates, the CDC estimates that cigarette smoking causes 1 out of every 5 deaths in the us every year. Dr. Nidhi Kumar explains.
