It happened on Malcolm X Boulevard near Madison Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant around 9:50 p.m. Saturday.
According to police, video shows a black Honda Accord stop alongside the victim's vehicle and shoot directly into the vehicle.
Police are searching for the shooter and a female individual who fled with him. Both are believed to be 16-18 years old.
The NYPD says two suspects fired at police and officers returned fire.
