Social media videos show the suspect crashing into more than a dozen parked cars, trying to evade officers.
Both suspects fled on foot. One was apprehended, but the other is still on the loose.
It happened on I-87 Christmas Eve in the town of Ulster.
At one point, the car ended up at Nanuet Middle School in Nanuet, New York. The school was briefly put on lockdown, but only administrators were in the building.
At least one suspect was taken into custody and the NYPD was searching a crime scene that is spread out over more than 10 blocks.
