A Uniondale man was arrested in the wee hours of Saturday morning for driving the wrong way on the Hempstead Turnpike, Nassau County's Highway Patrol Bureau said.
Police said a group of men fire shots into an Elmont home after a woman yelled at them to stop hitting her boyfriend's car.
A 16-year-old man was struck and killed on Wednesday in Levittown when he was hit by a minivan, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
Topping the list is the Hempstead Turnpike in Nassau County, where there have been 15 deadly accidents involving pedestrians from 2008 to 2010.
Police say for some reason a struggle broke out, the suspect -- identified as 41-year-old Duane Oxley -- fought for the officers gun and the officer was shot in the leg. The suspect was shot and killed by a second police officer.
It happened back on Aug. 18 in East Meadow. Police say around 5 a.m., the knife-wielding suspect raped a victim near the Hempstead Turnpike.
Everything is back to normal at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, Long Island after an 11,000-gallon liquid oxygen tank leaked.
Police say two cab drivers got into fight over picking up a passenger early Friday morning in Franklin Square.
