Hold your horses big fella. You haven't become a household name just yet. That's the message Eli Manning is sending to rookie wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
In his first season with Big Blue, Jennings has carried the ball 91 times for 396 yards (4.4 yards per carry) and two touchdowns. He's also caught 11 passes for 109 yards.
You refused to listen two weeks ago. But we'll say it again. The Giants are legit. They didn't panic at 0-2, and now they are 3-2.
We know that rewarding Odell Beckham in his NFL debut might be the thing to do. But we try to go a bit deeper here whenever possible.
Three strong teams in the Giants' division once again. It may be the NFL's most shocking on-the-field development this season.
The New York Giants unleashed their newest weapon, Odell Beckham, Jr., and the rookie speedster was certainly worth the wait. Beckham caught his first NFL pass, as well as his first NFL touchdown, and provided a much-needed offensive lift. After a mediocre first half, the Giants' defense clamped down on Matt Ryan and company, and New York won going away, 30-20, at MetLife Stadium.
In other years, it would have been just like Big Blue to lose this game against the banged-up Falcons. Not in 2014, though. Not on Sunday.
That left-over feeling of 'what can go wrong next' from last season is being replaced with that belief that somehow, someone is going to make a play to win the game.
Sunday proved to be a case of two different worlds as far as the football locals go.
First-round draft pick Odell Beckham Jr. made his NFL debut a memorable one, catching a go-ahead 15-yard touchdown pass from Eli Manning with 10:02 left to lead the New York Giants to a 30-20 victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
Matt Ryan guides one of the NFL's best offenses, though how the Atlanta Falcons will function with the ball now is a serious question mark due to a depleted offensive line.
Hester, a three-time Pro Bowler, has returned more punts and kicks for touchdowns than any other player in league history. He broke Deion Sanders' record for return TDs with a 62-yard punt return against Tampa Bay on Sept. 18.
Whatever elixir the New York Giants drank between weeks two and three of the NFL regular season should be saved for future use. Not only did the team even its record at 2-2 over the past two weeks; they also have become healthier than we have seen in several seasons. Meanwhile, the Atlanta Falcons come into MetLife Stadium sporting the same 2-2 record but with a fistful of question marks, especially across the offensive line.
They hit the switch during Wednesday's practice. Everybody on the 53-man roster participated and the players discovered their swagger as they prepared for Sunday's home meeting with the Falcons.
Donnell, an inch taller than Plaxico Burress, could become New York's next great end zone-target -- a regular customer for the Eli Manning fade pass.
